The Historical Library "Giuseppe Grosso" boasts the HERITY certification for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage, received on 18 February 2010.
Their spaces have been renewed and increased: the new sector, able to host three of its most prestigious collections, until now preserved in narrow spaces and inaccessible to readers, in order to enhance them and make them more usable. To find a new location in as many classrooms of the Palazzo Dal Pozzo della Cisterna were the library funds (with their archives) of Carlo Ignazio Giulio, Giorgio Ermanno Anselmi and Marino Parenti, for a total of about half a kilometer of documents. The furnishings of the rooms, located in the eighteenth-century wing overlooking Via Carlo Alberto, have been designed in such a way as to respect one of the fundamental principles of librarianship, which requires not to dismember the collections, but to preserve them according to the criteria followed by those who assembled them, while trying to interfere as little as possible with a historical environment of the highest quality. The shelves and the shades of the colors have been prepared with particular care and with the aim of producing a setting that can harmonize with the real architectural and artistic treasures of the halls. The rooms themselves, equipped with the necessary anti-theft devices, are part of the tour of Palazzo Cisterna.
